Release date: December 20, 2011
Expiration date: December 20, 2012

This activity and the live symposium on which it is based were supported by an educational grant from Novo Nordisk, Inc. The live symposium, “Hot Seat Discussion on GLP-1 Receptor Agonists…Your Questions Answered,” which was presented Saturday, June 4, 2011, at The Endocrine Society’s 93rd Annual Meeting and Expo (ENDO 2011) in Boston, Massachusetts, was sponsored by The Endocrine Society and developed by the Institute for Medical and Nursing Education, Inc. (IMNE).

Activity Overview
Recent clinical trials have demonstrated the therapeutic efficacy of glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1 RAs) at different stages of diabetes progression, and exploratory studies suggest the potential for therapeutic uses other than glycemic control in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). This continuing medical education (CME/CE) symposium will focus on hot topics arising from the most current information relevant to GLP-1 RAs.

Activity Format
This activity will include an introductory segment followed by 8 “hot topic” discussions consisting of of comparative answer polling questions; a short written excerpt of relevant, corresponding clinical data; and audio clips of the faculty roundtable discussion derived from questions received during the live activity.
