Unraveling the Mystery of Glycemic Control: Spotlight on Insulin Analogs
Landmark clinical studies have shown that tight glycemic control reduces the risk of diabetic complications. Accordingly, the goal of diabetes care is to ensure the timely advancement of therapy and frequent therapeutic adjustment so that glycemic targets can be met. However, a majority of patients are not achieving glycemic targets. Advancement to insulin therapy when glycemic control is suboptimal often occurs far later than is needed to achieve tight glycemic control. Insulin analog therapy is an important therapeutic option for addressing this unmet need in diabetes care.
